The Roxane Matsa Estate in Attica, is located in Kantza, an area known for the cultivation and production of high quality wines. It is considered a historic vineyard established in 1878 with vines over 30 years old. Today the estate cultivates the varieties Savvatiano, Roditis, Assyrtiko, Syrah, Malagouzia and Sauvignon blanc. The symbol of Roxani Matsa, which appears on the distinctive labels of Roxani Matsa wines, is the Venetian lion, considered the "protector of the vines". The lion statue was found on the estate and was donated to the Greek state by the Matsa family, along with the land on which it was discovered. Today the statue is only a few meters away from the northern vineyard. The logo of the estate was designed by the acclaimed Greek artist Yannis Tsarouhis. He drew the sketch in 1945 and dedicated it to Roxani Matsa in 1984.
