A few metres from the Municipal Art Gallery, in the Medieval Town, is the charming Argyrokastrou Square.
Here, in a three-aisled vaulted hall, that during the period of Knights served as armory, is housed the
Folklore Collection of Decorative Arts.
The exhibits mainly derive from the Ethnographic collection formed by the Italians during the years of the Italian Occupation
of the Dodecanese (1912-1947), as well as from the Folklore Archive of the Dodecanese. The collection includes furniture
and household utensils, woodcarvings, ceramics,
among them specimens of the renowned plates from Lindos, traditional costumes and embroideries from all over the Dodecanese islands.
The artifacts date from the 17th to the early 20th centuries.
