The vineyards of Mylopotamos stretch among rocks, an endless river, an olive grove and a green forest, οn the east coast of Mount Athos, where the first sun’s rays are spread from the edge of the Aegean Sea. In the first Metochi (Farm) of the Monastery of Megisti Lavra, a vineyard with traditional wine production was planted in 973 AD. Monk Epifanios continued the production up to this day. Nowadays a vineyard of 50 acres thrives. From its grapes, the wines Metochi Mylopotamos are produced with distinctions in Greece and abroad.
