The Apolytares cape is at the Antikythira island and specific at the southern edge of it. One of the bigger petroleum lighthouses was built there in 1926. The lighthouse facility includes a stone cylindrical tower and a keeper’s house. The tower is 23 meters high, the focal plane is 45 meters and the lighthouse is visible in a distance of 36 nautical miles.
The lighthouse is accessible by boat from Potamos. However many times and for a long period, the access is impossible due to bad weather conditions.
