KARAVOMYLOS (Village) KEFALLONIA
This is the largest of a number of pretty coves found on the way from Karavomylos to the town of Agia Efimia in the neighboring municipality of Pylaros. All coves are easily accessible as the main road passes next to the sea making it simply a matter of descending a footpath of a few meters. The road turns and winds, constantly revealing naturally set rest areas, shaded by olive trees, complete with yet another pretty cove. The coves - with a view of Ithaki in the distance - have coarse white sand and clean waters in dreamy hues of turquoise and blue.

SAMI (Village) KEFALLONIA
An uninterrupted coastline connects the town of Sami to Karavomylos. The entire area is suitable for swimming as the waters are exceptionally clean and the beach itself changes from sandy to pebbly and back again, providing variety for all tastes.
Setting off from the town of Sami in the direction of Antisamos Beach, we come across several picturesque coves -such as Paliouras- that are accesible by boat or footpath. A pleasant surprise awaits the visitor after reaching Dichalia and starting to descend to Antisamos Beach. A splendid canvas of green is painted in all imaginable shades of blue and white. From that vintage location, the view of the emerald beach is an awesome experiences for the senses, every single time. The turquoise waters of the Ionian Sea reach out to embrace the incredibly white pebbles which in turn fade into the magnificent green surrounding scenery of the mountainside. Antisamos is one of the best beaches on the island and the entire Ionian region as well. It is this untamed beauty that captured the imagination of the producers of "Captain Corelli's Mandolin" when they decided to use it as a location for the filming of the movie.
