  This is the cosmopolitan and one of the most beautiful beaches of the region, since in the village of Agios Ioannis -in the periphery of Agios Dimitrios-, spends its holidays the biggest part of the region’s tourists. A beach awarded the Blue Flag of Europe having an easy and instant access. Each year stands out for the services and the organization offered at the potential visitor. It can be reached by Flying Dolphins departing from Volos, the island of Skiathos or from Salonica. For many years now a lifeguard station is in operation, providing advisory, preventive as well as suppressive action, rending this beach safe for the bathers.

It is a beach being awarded the Blue Flag of Europe for many years now, for its organization and the purity of its waters. It constitutes a characteristic sample of the region and the pride of the Periphery of Mouresi.

Mylopotamos Beach

MYLOPOTAMOS (Settlement) ZAGORA-MOURESI
  Milopotamos is the best known and most advertised beach of the Municipality, awarded the Blue Flag of Europe each year, for its beautiful emerald waters. The huge rock standing in the middle of it as well as the aperture in one of its ends, leading to another beautiful haven, lend at Milopotamos a distinctive beauty. A lifeguard station will be in operation from this year on, providing advisory, preventive as well as suppressive action, rending this beach even safer for the bathers. The beach can be accessed by car through a 7km-turnpike road from Tsagarada, with two roads leaving the village and a spacious Parking.

This is most famous beach of Skiathos and one of the most widely - known beaches in Europe. It is known as "Chrisi Ammos - Golden Sand" since the sand there is extremely fine and shines under the summer sun. This beach offers the visitors its deep-blue, crystal-clear waters and a unique chance for a rest since the forest of Koukounaries reaches down to the sea.

Lalaria Beach

LALARIA (Beach) SKIATHOS
Lalaria is one of the nicest and most picturesque beaches of Greece and it is situated on the northeastern tip of the island. The northern winds fall with rage on the steep purely white cliffs, towering impressively over the sea. There winds have been creating for millions of years the round, white pebbles called "lalaria" which cover the whole beach.

Aselinos Beach (Blue Flag 2000)

ASSELINOS (Beach) SKIATHOS
Megas Asselinos. It is a bay which opens up to the north and from which no land can be seen. Although it is considered a sandy beach, it does not look like the calm beaches of southern Skiathos. Here the sand is thicker, there are many pebbles and the waters are quite deep and crystal clear. The impressive landscape is magnificent. When there are northern winds, there are waves in the sea and this can make your swim more fun. You can reach Asselinos by road if you go through a piece of dirt road or by boat. After your swim, you can have something to eat or drink in the local taverna which offers a live Greek music program every night. There is also a camping site near the beach.

Kechria Beach

KECHRIA (Beach) SKIATHOS
The bay of Kechria and the adjacent bay of Lygaries are situated in the north of the island. The trip there is worthwhile even though a lot of it is on dirt road. You can get there by boat as well. The waters are crystal-clear exposed to the northern winds and the sand is superb. Kechria is situated near the old monastery of Panagia Kechria.

In this area there are three magnificent bays: the port of Xerxes, the bay Elia and Angistros. The landscape here changes as we move to the north and it becomes more wild and more impressive. All these three bays are magnificent and impressive since you can see no land. To reach these bays by road, you have to move in deeply through a lovely forest of pine-trees on sandly ground. It is easy to reach the sea on a motor-bike. Megali Ammos Beach (Blue Flag 2000)

MEGALI AMMOS (Beach) SKIATHOS
"Megali Ammos" is situated a bit outside the city in the street leading to Koukounaries. You can reach this beach on foot, by car or by bus. You can enjoy the crystal clear waters and the food in its very nice tavernas or the picturesque "ouzeri" (small tavernas serving ouzo and snacks). If you wish, you can stay in the hotels or the hospitable hostels situated there.

Plaka Beach

PLAKA (Settlement) ZAGORA-MOURESI
  This is the second beach of the periphery of Anilio and the most frequented. Its access is through the village of Anilio following an earthen road of about 3Km. But it can also be reached from Agios Ioannis, walking down a path of 100meters through which, during the summer period, is daily submerged by visitors searching for a beautiful beach where the green of the mountain literally touches the sea, giving Plaka the distinctiveness that renders it one of the most famous beaches of the East Pelion.

Lechouni Beach

Right under the monastery of Evagelismos, the visitor sees the beach of Lechouni. According to tradition, it is said that the hero of the Revolution of 1821, Nikotsaras, is buried here. The landscape is rocky with white pebbles on the beach and a wild natural beauty. Near Lechouni there is Megas Yialos, an enchanting piece of coast, almost unknown to many people. Sklithri Beach (Blue Flag 2000)

SKLITHRI (Beach) SKIATHOS
Here on the eastern side of cape Kalamaki there are three bays, the most famous of which is the bay of Kanapitsa. The other two are called Sklithri and Tzaneria. You can reach them by road. You will first meet Sklithri which is a small hospitable bay with crystal clear waters. You can enjoy your swim and if you wish, you can have a bite to eat in the picturesque little taverna found there at the end of a fresh and cool ravine of plane-trees.

Troullos Beach (Blue Flag 2000)

TROULOS (Settlement) SKIATHOS
This beach has been named after the little island found there which looks like a dome (troullos). It is situated on the way to Koukounaries right after the crossing which leads to the monastery of Panagia Eikonistria. You can reach Troullos by road and enjoy a swim in the bluish - green transparent waters under the shade of the pine trees which reach almost the sea water. There are numerous hotels, hostels and tavernas in Troullos.

Tsougria Beach

TSOUGRIA (Island) SKIATHOS
On entering the port of Skiathos, we can see the uninhabited island of Tsougrias. It is a beautiful island, full of green, with beaches all along its coast with crystal clear, bluish-green waters. The picturesque country church of Agios Floros which is worth visiting is located here. You can reach the island of Tsougrias on boats leaving the port of Skiathos every morning.

Tzaneria Beach

Right after Sklithri, you will find on your way Tzaneria. This is also a friendly bay under the picturesque hotel "Nostos". Vromolimnos Beach

VROMOLIMNOS (Settlement) SKIATHOS
On the western tip of the cape of Kalamaki and in front of a dry swamp, there is this beautiful beach with calm, clear waters and marvellous fine sand. It is full of life and a lot of young people gather here. Next to the water, there are tavernas and cafes, a Beach Volley court and water sports facilities. You can reach Vromolimnos by road or by boat leaving from the port of Skiathos.

Krassias or Banana Beach

This bay was originally called Krassa, but later it was named Banana after the nudist beach which used to be there. The pine trees here complete the beautiful landscape in a unique way and the sea shines brilliantly under the blazing sun.

  This is one of the most beautiful beaches of the region but also one of the most inaccessible. It may be reached by sea or by a turnpike road 2km long, followed by another 2km of earthen road and a 10 minute long walk in the end. However the visitor is compensated by the wonderful view he comes across seeing from above an "embrace" of sand surrounded by high rocks rendering it a natural port. Its thick sand and its pebbles predispose the potential visitor of never wanting to leave it behind.
