The frescoes of this church are of a special interest. The gate-tower of the cemetery was built in 1847 and the gate-tower of the belfry in 1866. Another temple of great interest in Filippiada is the temple of Agios Vissarion, which was built in 1861-62. Monastery of Prophet Elias - Iliovounia

FLABOURA (Village) PREVEZA
The holy monastery of Prophet Helias is built on a small plateau between the summits of the mountains of Heliovounia, hidden by the surrounding plain, between the villages N. Kerasounta and Stefani.
From an inscription on the east wall of the church we are informed that it was renovated in 1620 - which means that it was built earlier.
The present church was built in 1852-53, according to several inscriptions, while the stone-curved iconostasis was brought to completion in 1876 and the icons in 1875. Most of the frescoes of the interior decoration of the church were made in 1878. The monastery was destroyed during the Greek-Turkish war in 1897, while in July in 1944 the Germans set on fire the cells.
In 1987 a new monastery of Prophet Helias and St. John was founded near the village Flamboura.
On the 26th of November 1991, the consecration of the New Monastery took place, in 1992 the consecration of the church of Osios Paisios occurred and in 1996 the consecration of the church of Agios Prodromos took place.

In 1795 the present temple was built, in 1856 its stone iconostasis was constructed, in 1894 the gateway, and the building site of the cells for the monks was built in 1971.

The Holy Monastery of Avassou

KOTSANOPOULO (Village) PREVEZA
On the SW of the settlement of Ano Kotsanopoulo and near the village of Vryssoula, there is the holy monastery of Avassou, in the place of an older Byzantine monastery. An inscription - badly written - says that it was built in 1746. The monastery was renovated in 1852. It consists of the church (dedicated to Virgin Mary), which was built in 1853 and is the type of basilica with dome, the cells of the monks (now ruined), the guest-house (ruined as well) and a water-mill recently restored. The whole complex building site of the monastery is located in a picturesque landscape and is of unique beauty.

Monastery of St. Demetrios

KYPSELI (Village) PREVEZA
The monastery lies near the bank of the river Kokytos, by the modern village of Kypseli. The catholicon, which is preserved in a good condition, is a three-aisled basilica with a transverse barrel-vault. On the three sides of the naos (except for the east), several structures have been added: a narthex to the west, tripartite chambers to the north and south. The walls are built of stone blocks enclosed by bricks, and are decorated with brick and tile patterns, especially in the apse. As for the other structures of the monastery, the refectory (Trapeza) is preserved in a fairly good condition.
The catholicon (main church) was built by the Despote of Epirus, Michael II Doukas, in 1242, as attested by an inscription carved on a brick, on the tympanon of the south window of the transverse vault. A little later, the side chapels (parecclesia) were added, and even later, at the end of the 13th century, the narthex was erected.
The refectory (Trapeza) of the monastery, which has now been converted into a church dedicated to St. George, is roughly contemporary with the catholicon. The wall paintings of the catholicon date to the 17th-18th century. The destroyed tiles of the roof were replaced in 1969 and again, in 1973-74. In 1973 consolidation of the masonry was carried out and the paved floor of the catholicon was reconstructed.

Monastery of Agia Trias Lekatsa

MYRSINI (Village) ZALONGO
Seraphim Vyzantios, a Greek writer, mentions that the monastery of St. Trinity in Lekatsas, was built at the place of a Byzantine building of 8th or 9th century and was renovated in 1600 and then restored again in 1870. This monastery is built in allocation of rich vegetation, Kortos, NW of the village Myrsine. Its belfry was built in 1813, when a new renovation of the monastery took place, according to an inscription on it. The nave is dedicated to the Birth of Virgin Mary.

RIZOVOUNI (Village) PREVEZA
The monastery of Kastri, dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, is located on a rocky hill, close to the ruins of the ancient city of Vatia, south of the village Rizovouni.
It was built probably in 1095 and its frescoes were made in 1670, as Seraphim Vyzantios inform us.
According to an inscription over the west side door, the narthex of this church was built in 1695.
