KASTROSYKIA (Village) ZALONGO
The small monastery of Agia Pelagia is situated on the left side of
the national road of Preveza
to Igoumenitsa, just below
the village Kastrosykia. Seraphim Vyzantios mentions that this monastery was built
during the Byzantine period, according to the Byzantine architecture, and was
then renovated twice: in 2006-1613 and 1795.
In 1795 the present temple was built, in 1856 its stone iconostasis
was constructed, in 1894 the gateway, and the building site of the cells for the
monks was built in 1971.

MYRSINI (Village) ZALONGO
Seraphim Vyzantios, a Greek writer, mentions that the monastery of
St. Trinity in Lekatsas, was built at the place of a Byzantine building of 8th
or 9th century and was renovated in 1600 and then restored again in 1870. This
monastery is built in allocation of rich vegetation, Kortos, NW of the village
Myrsine. Its belfry was built in 1813, when a new renovation of the monastery
took place, according to an inscription on it. The nave is dedicated to the Birth
of Virgin Mary.
