AKAMANTION (Ancient city) CYPRUS
(Akamas). A son of Theseus and Phaedra. He was deputed
to accompany Diomede, when the latter was sent to Troy to demand Helen. During
his stay at Troy he became the father of Munitus by Laodicea, one of the daughters
of Priam. He went to the Trojan War, and was one of the warriors enclosed in the
wooden horse. He afterwards led a colony from Athens to Cyprus, where he died.
