Dulopolis

  Dulopolis (Doulopolis, Doulon polis, Hesych.), a city of Crete, which was mentioned by Sosicrates in the first book of his work on Crete (Suid. s. v.), and was said to have contained a thousand male citizens (Steph. B. s. v.). Unfortunately, none of these authorities give any hint which might serve to determine the situation of this city, which, from the singularity of its name, gives rise to tempting conjectures.
