KEA (Island) KYKLADES
The basic occupation of the islanders was, and still is, stock breeding. Kea's cows are reputedly the best of the region. Pigs, goats and sheep are also raised on the island. Apart from dairy products (milk, cheese, butter etc.) Kea also produces excellent vegetables, fruit and nuts. Apiculture should also be mentioned. Thyme honey from Kea is famous. Pasteli, made with sesame seed and honey, is a speciality of the island.
