Panormus

Panormus (Panormos: Eth. Panormites). A harbour of Achaia, 15 stadia E. of the promontory of Rhium. The bay is now called Tekieh from a tekieh or tomb of a Turkish saint, which formerly stood upon it. (Paus. vii. 22. § 10; Thuc. ii. 86; Polyb. v. 1.02; Plin. iv. 5 ; Leake, Morea, vol. iii. p. 195.)
