Strabo

Pylene, Proschium

The poet also names Olenus and Pylene as Aetolian cities. Of these, the former, which bears the same name as the Achaean city, was razed to the ground by the Aeolians; it was near New Pleuron, but the Acarnanians claimed possession of the territory. The other, Pylene, the Aeolians moved to higher ground, and also changed its name, calling it Proschium.. Pylene has also suffered a fate similar to that of Olenus. When the poet calls Calydon both "steep" and "rocky," one should interpret him as referring to the country; for, as I have said, they divided the country into two parts and assigned the mountainous part, or Epictetus, to Calydon and the level country to Pleuron.
