This market is found on the Fortress Hill.

"Pappas Flour Mill"

  Next door to the Bus Station for long distance trips (53, Georgiadou street). It results from a block of buildings and started its operation like an industrial unit for flours production by 1927. The most sophisticated and modern mill for its era. Today the most of these buildings have already turned to other activities, also taking advantage of many other different type cultural expressions.

Monuments

Hippocrates’ Monument

  It stands on the other side of Alcazar Park. Hippocrates’ grave has been discovered exactly at the same point in which today stands his marble statue, one of the Georgios Kalakalas works and a Medical Museum (founder: Dimitrios Paliouras).

Alcazar Park

  It stands on the left side of Pinios river shore. There are also: the National Resistance’s Monument (one of the Philolaos Tloupas works), one artificial lake, mini golf facilities and the "Garden-theater" (amphitheater of many presentations with cultural expression, with a 2.500 seats capacity).

Religious monuments

Early-Christian basilica (6th or 7th century)

THE FORTRESS HILL
  The remains of the long standing Christianic Triklitos Basilica building from 6th or 7th century. This basilica has been constructed in a big grave with arched roof, which is believed by the archaeologists to be the vault of St. Achilles and his church also under the same name.
