The Community of Kalamos was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 2 Communal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Episkopi,
2. Kalamos.
Community seat is Kalamos, village of the homonymous communal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 465 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
KASTOS (Island) IONIAN ISLANDS
The Community of Kastos was not affected by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan).
The population was 50 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
MEGANISSI (Island) IONIAN ISLANDS
The Municipality of Meganission was not affected by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan).
The population was 1246 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
