Municipality seat is Kambanos, village of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 1539 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
KANDANOS (Municipality) CHANIA
The Municipality of Kandanos was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 3 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Kandanos
and the former communities of:
1. Kakodikion,
2. Plemeniana.
Municipality seat is Kandanos, village of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 1694 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
PELEKANOS (Municipality) CHANIA
The Municipality of Pelekanos was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 3 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Pelekanos
and the former communities of:
1. Paleochora,
2. Sarakina.
Municipality seat is Paleochora, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 3464 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
