The Municipality of Parapotamos was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 4 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of
1. Parapotamos,
the former community of
1. Koritiani
and the settlements of:
1. Geroplatanos of the former community Pigadoulia,
2. Drimitsa of the municipality of Igoumenitsa.
Municipality seat is Parapotamos, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 1335 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
