Municipality of Akrata

The Municipality of Akrata was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 8 Municipal Districts, the former municipalities of:
1. Akrata,
2. Nonakris
and the former communities of:
1. Ambelos,
2. Valimi,
3. Voutsimos,
4. Kalamia,
5. Paralia Platanou,
6. Platanos.
Municipality seat is Akrata, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 5492 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
