Municipality of Olenia

The Municipality of Olenia was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 16 Municipal Districts, the former communities of:
1. Agios Nikolaos Kralis,
2. Agios Stefanos,
3. Ano Soudeneika,
4. Arla,
5. Achaikon,
6. Loussika,
7. Mitopolis,
8. Portes,
9. Santomerion,
10. Flokas,
11. Fostena,
12. Chaikalion,
13. Charavgi
and the settlement of:
1.Galaneika,
2. Ganeika,
3. Kato Mazarakion, of the former community of Mazaraki.
Municipality seat is Loussika, village of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 6813 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
