DION (Municipality) PIERIA
The Municipality of Dion was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 6 Municipal Districts, the former municipality of:
1. Dion
and the former communities of:
1. Agios Spyridon,
2. Vrondou,
3. Karitsa,
4. Kondariotissa,
5. Nea Efessos.
Municipality seat is Kondariotissa, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 9875 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
