Municipality of Ariana

The Municipality of Ariana was founded by Law 2539/1997 (Kapodistria Plan), consists of 14 Municipal Districts, the settlements of:
1. Agiochorion,
2. Ariana, of the former community of Ariana,
3. Darmeni,
4. Dilina, of the former community of Fillyras,
5. Ipion, of the former community of Nea Santa,
6. Kinyra,
7. Plagia,
8. Lykion,
9. Mikron Piston,
10. Mystakas,
11. Neda, of the former community of Ariana,
12. Skaloma, of the former community of Fillyras,
13. Strofi,
14. Nikite, of the former community of Ariana.
Municipality seat is Ariana, small town of the homonymous municipal district. The first authorities were elected in October 1998. The population was 5456 inhabitants, according to the 1991 census.
