AGIOKAMBOS, Port, EVIA

In antiquity the city ‘’Dios’’ was there, built by the Athenians. Its citizens produced the red dye used for the local robes. The advance of Datis and Artaphernes resulted to the destruction of the ancient city, leaving no historical evidence on its location. The 19th century archeological digs revealed important findings including coins from Istiea. Since then it has a ferry connection with Glyfa which is opposite, in the Magnesia Prefecture. This is the link between Northern Evia and Central and Northern Greece. As far as the beach is concerned, Agiokambos beach with its golden sand, shinny pebbles, crystal clear sea with plenty of fishes, is the destination for an unforgettable vacation.
