The fortification wall of an ancient Phocian city, Drymaia,
is preserved. It dates to the 5th century B.C. Both trapezontal and isodomic masonry
has been attested in its extant parts. Square
towers are well preserved on the west side. Remains
of a circular enclosure crowned the summit of the hill and surrounded the
main acropolis. On the slopes of the hill remains of a temple dedicated to Demeter
Thesmophoros (Law-giving) are visible.
