Extensive cemetery of cist-graves
dated to the early Iron Age (1000-600 B.C.).
In the same area, at a short distance to the south, Mycenaean chamber
tombs cut in the rock (dated to 1600-1100 B.C.) and graves of the Early Helladic
period (3rd millenium B.C.) have also been discovered.
Excavations in the area were carried out in 1930-37 by Ph. Stavropoulos
and J. Papademetriou, and have been resumed by E. Sapouna-Sakellaraki.
