The Museum of Greek Children’s Art, exhibits drawings and three dimensional artworks by children 5 to 13 years old. It focuses on the field of children’s artistic creativity and is one of the few world-wide on the subject. Created in 1994, it aims from the start to study and present children’s art, to develop children’s aesthetic education, to exchange exhibitions and collaborate with relevant institutions in Greece and abroad. Drawing from its collections the M.G.C.A. renews its exhibits every other year, hosting each time a different theme. Interactive activity corners have been specially designed in order to offer visitors of all ages a creative experience in the exhibitions areas. All visitors can play the game of finding what is hidden in the red boxes. Instructions are also in English. Art activity workshops on a 3 and 8 month basis and holiday programmes for children are organized by specially trained stuff in the Museum’s premises. During June, July and September 2011 children have the chance to reproduce the world of ancient Greece, creating their very own work of art, a personal souvenir of their visit to Athens, at the Museum’s workshop with the help of art teachers. Activity art program in English. Exhibitions 2010-2011:
