Located near the village of Achinos in central Greece, La Tour Melas is a wine-growing estate surrounded by ancient, untouched oak forests, overlooking the Aegean Sea. On the ten hectares that now compose the property of La Tour Melas, only three are growing red vines of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The first grapevines were planted in 2001.
The winery is a four-level, temperature controlled, underground structure. It is designed so that the wine flows by gravity from one step to the next, suitably leaving little need for pumps.
La Tour Melas Lodges, 14 luxury rooms completed by December 2014, is becoming reality. These rooms will mainly serve the wine lovers who want to visit La Tour Melas, or any agro tourism fans who would like to visit the historically cultural rich and beautiful area of the property.
