The Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) was established in 1974. Over the past 25 years, MATTA has grown from being a travel agents association with about 30 members to one with nearly 1500 members.
Today, MATTA boasts a membership of over 1500 members, comprising local tour and travel organisations as well as numerous overseas affiliations. It is also the national umbrella representative body for the entire travel industry in the country. With a full time secretariat in Kuala Lumpur, its headquarters, MATTA has state chapters in Kedah, Johor, Penang, Perak, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor and Terengganu.
