Lighthouse Patra

In 1999, at the Agios Andreas area was built the modern Patra’s lighthouse. It is a replica of the old one that was pulled down in 1972. It is located opposite the Agios Andreas church.

The old lighthouse of Patra, the jewel and symbol of the city, it was constructed by stone. Then Patra’s port was the gate of the Greece from andto the West. When the Isthmos of Korinthos drilled, Patra lost its financial splendor and the port passed to backseat.
