The Maleas cape is at the southern edge of Peloponnisos. The stone lighthouse was built in 1883 with a tower of 15 meters high and focal plane of 40 meters. In nowadays the cape is known as Kavo Malias or Xylochaftis (wood gulp), because many ships were sunk in the area.
In 2010 the Ekaterini Laskaridi Foundation finalized the restoration works of the lighthouse at the legendary Kavo Maleas cape.
