It lies οn a knoll to the north of modern settlement (Achinos).
Isodomic fortification
wall is identified with the fortification of ancient Echinous and dates to
the 4th century B.C. Additions to it are dated in the reign of Justinian. A tower
to the east is well preserved whereas traces of another one as well as the entrance
are visible to the north.
