It is a monastery for nuns only, situated in Ano Liosia. It was founded
in 1961 by the abbess Agathangeli Kourkounaki. The catholicon celebrates in the
8th of September, in the Feast of the Nativity of the Virgin.
There are four chapels belonging to the monastery: the chapel of St.
Gerasimos the Cephallonite, the chapel of St. Demetrius, the chapel of St. Antonios
the Great in a cave outside the monastery and the funerary chapel of St. Sophia.
The monastery holds the relics of St. Arsenios of Paros
and of the Four Martyrs who died in Crete.
It also holds the relics of two heroes of the Greek resistance in the 2nd World
War.
