The height of its tower is 6,5 meters and its focal plane is 10 meters. It’s a metallic lamp located at the entrance of Chios port at the Bourtzi castle, an abandoned building, which was a lighthouse-tower on the north breakwater of Chios port. It was constructed in 15th century and called "La Porporella". It was also used for the inspection of the port. Later the Turkish transformed the tower to a fortress that named Bourtzi. Cannon-ports are around on its seasides. At the south breakwater was an equivalent lamp, called "Diamante", "Aguglia" ή "Piliastro".
