The smallest village of Limnos
is Propouli. It is first referred in a document concerning the properties of the
Dionyssos Monastery of Mount
Athos. It is said that the Christians who lived here gave their properties
to the Monastery of Simonos Petra
of Athos as they did not want these transferred to the Turks. A few Turks
lived here before 1912 and they had constructed a hamam - a Turkish bath-house.
