Archaeological Museum of Kozane - Overview

  The Neoclassical building of the museum was donated to the Archaeological Service by the Municipality of Kozane. The exhibition of finds in the first floor was opened to the public in 1989.
  The museum contains exhibits spanning the period from Prehistoric until early Christian times, found in various sites of the prefecture of Kozane.

  The most important items of the museum are:
Bronze pendant from Apidea, dated to the 7th century B.C.
Inscribed silver plate (phiale) from Kozane, dated to the early 5th century B.C.
Gold twin fibula found in a tomb at Apidea. Dated to the 4th century B.C. Bronze vases from a tomb at Apidea, dated to the 4th century B.C.
Marble head of a female statue from Elane. Dated to the 4th century B.C.
Gold earrings found at Ano Kome, dated to the second half of the 4th century B.C.
Gold earrings from the necropolis of Kozane.
Funerary offerings found in a grave of the necropolis of Kozane.
Inscription with an epistle of Philip V found at Koilada, in the vicinity of Kozane.
Marble statue of a boy from Mesovaio, dated to the Roman period.
